Beginnings
Historia firmy Metalowiec zaczyna się w maju 1976 roku. Rozpoczęliśmy wtedy swoją działalność na rynku jako Spółdzielnia Inwalidów „Metalowiec”. Od początku działalności kontynuowaliśmy produkcję w ramach branży metalowej.
Asortyment produkcji zmieniał się jak w kalejdoskopie, dostosowując się do potrzeb rynku. Produkowaliśmy między innymi konstrukcje dachowe, szafy pancerne, stelaże do foteli samochodów osobowych, elementy dla budownictwa, podzespoły do kuchenek gazowych, elementy do wagonów kolejowych oraz palety metalowe dla przemysłu motoryzacyjnego.
Sheltered Employment Enterprise
People with disabilities face many barriers in their professional lives. Some, due to the nature of their disabilities, are unable to find employment on the open labor market. With them in mind, the Metalowiec Cooperative for the Disabled began its operations. In 2013, it was transformed into a limited liability company, while maintaining its status as a sheltered employment enterprise.
As the only facility in the Namysłów district properly adapted to the needs of people with disabilities, we actively counteracted their exclusion from the labor market and enabled them to develop their careers freely.
Due to our status as a sheltered employment enterprise, our company provided appropriately adapted buildings and facilities that meet health and safety standards and are tailored to the specific needs of people with disabilities. We also ensured access to immediate and specialized medical care, counseling, and rehabilitation services for our employees.
Medical Equipment
Another breakthrough stage in our company’s development was the launch of production of rehabilitation equipment and rehabilitation chairs. The expansion of the product range and the scale of chair production made Metalowiec a leading player in this industry during the 1980s. To this day, our durable and functional products can still be found in many companies, hospitals, and public institutions. Although they differ from current standards, their high-quality workmanship ensures their lasting value.
In the 1990s, our dynamic technology and design department focused on implementing new technologies and offering customers innovative products that met European standards. In addition to new types of chairs and armchairs, we expanded our range of rehabilitation equipment. From 1995 onwards, the production of medical furniture and equipment grew rapidly.
“Metalowiec” Today
Since January 2014, we have been operating on the market as Metalowiec Sp. z o.o.
Currently, medical and rehabilitation equipment constitutes the core of our company’s offer. We are a well-known and respected manufacturer of multifunctional electrically operated hospital beds, long-term care beds with wooden finishes, standard hospital beds, bedside cabinets, patient transport trolleys, blood collection chairs, examination couches, and other medical furniture.
Our strength lies in our technology and design department, which enables us to introduce new products into production and adapt existing ones to the individual needs of our customers.
Between 2000 and 2021, exports accounted for approximately 30% of total sales. Hospital beds and long-term care beds are mainly sold to Germany, as well as to the Netherlands, England, the USA, Lithuania, Latvia, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic. The number of beds sold for export between 2000 and 2021 exceeded 30,000 units.
Many years of experience, high product quality, flexibility, and competitive pricing create a very attractive offer for our customers. We operate under a quality management system compliant with ISO 9001. Production is carried out in accordance with current standards, and our medical products are CE marked.
